When you answer calls for wildlife rescue, you never truly know what kind of situation awaits you on the other end of the line.
Recently, we received an urgent call regarding a snake spotted right at a local residence. The caller mentioned that a small snake was resting directly on their front entrance gate.
Upon reaching the location,we spotted the little visitor immediately. Perched comfortably atop the metal frame of the gate was a juvenile Indian Rock Python (Python molurus). He was neatly coiled, completely calm, and taking a peaceful rest unaware of the commotion his presence had caused.
While Indian Rock Pythons are non-venomous, encountering one at your front door can be alarming for homeowners. Young pythons are often on the move searching for safe shelter or small prey, and this young reptile simply found the gate to be a convenient resting spot for the afternoon.
